Renovation of 212 Bachelor Enlisted Quarter’s (BEQ’s)

ASSET served as prime contractor to provide post-Hurricane Katrina emergency response, remediation and reconstruction of Series 460 and 470 Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ’s) at NAS/JRB New Orleans. Because the 212 BEQ’s were occupied throughout construction, extensive coordination and communication with base personnel was required. ASSET worked with the Navy for the coordination of move-outs and move-ins of the Navy occupants to optimize housing availability, thereby reducing costs to the Government.

The project included demolition of damaged interior walls, flooring and utilities; asbestos, mold and lead surveys; mold remediation; roofing repairs; reconstruction of flooring, drywall, paint, casework; mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs; and door and hardware replacement.

ASSET completed this challenging project days ahead of schedule.
